Everybody Deserves A Fair Shake!

I, for one, appreciate the fact that we have had President Obama at the National Helm during this period of economic crisis that we have been going through.

Anyone who wishes to look deep into what he has actually accomplished on behalf of The United States since he was elected is going to find a long list of positive accomplishment including the one that assures equal pay between the genders.

Too, there are, at present some 82 million seniors who are enjoying a closing of that expensive old “Donut Hole” in their Medicare coverage. I imagine that if “Obama Care” gets overturned some day, those seniors will be less than pleased with the Conservatives who are working so hard to make more millionaires at their expense and on their backs.

But there will always be some arrogant nartwoggler who will argue, “So what are you going to do when the country runs out of money and can’t afford all those free handouts anymore–like Social Security and Medicare and VA Medical care?”

My answer to that is, “If that happens, I am sure the American People will make sure that the greed mongers live hard.

Americans will take a lot of horse manure from a lot of sources, but when they are pushed against the wall, the sleeping giant awakens and the perp-er-traitors end up getting theirs in areas where the sun don’t shine.  It has always been that way and I have no reason to suspect that it won’t continue to be that way because Americans are a Proud People– an industrious People, an Inventive People, and Imaginative People and an undefeatable force when messed with. The powerful combination of a riled-up Citizenry and a voting booth is a formidable detriment to injustice and inequality.

So the oppressors  with the big mouths and the swelled pocketbooks, take notice.  America is watching!

The Occupy Wall Street Movement is what I consider the beginning of something big and wonderful– a populist movement to actually level the fiscal playing fields again. The adversaries of OWS think it is some kind of flash in the pan, obviously and they spend a lot of time telling us how “Communist” it all is.

But may I remind the more astute students of history among us that it is probably the same way old King George viewed those pesky and rebellious American Colonists back in 1775 and 76?  We all know how that turned out, don’t we?

The Right Wing Tories and Loyalists saw the handwriting on the wall and so they grabbed all their wealth that they could pack and set off for safer ground in Canada and elsewhere.

They were braggarts and cowards back then and many of their ilk are braggarts and cowards today and when things get rough, they will do what they always do– they will capitulate to the Will of the People or they will hide out in their cushy little several acre mansions until it all blows over.

But it might not blow over this time. Please remember the reportedly arrogant responses of The Czars in Russia in 1917.

The wealthy in that “Country Destined For Change” soon discovered that their money couldn’t buy their way out of the revolutionary fever that was sweeping them along toward a destiny they could have never imagined in their wildest dreams.  Many of them became absolute paupers during that Historic event we now call “The Russian Revolution.”

I think we are, at this very time, on the cusp of a new revolution here in America.  I think it will be a cultural revolution and that there will be no need to resort to armed conflict as some of the political demonstrators have suggested with their tight little silk pajama and tricorn hat “Patriot” suits and their hate signs.  Remember them?

They aren’t making the noise they once were able to make are they?  They showed America their true faces and they got some of their own ideologues elected to some governorships and it was such a disaster that recall petitions flew like snowflakes in a blizzard and the fall-out from those idiotic decisions is still burning like signal fires in the night.

Regardless of all the noise and propaganda that the wealthiest 1% of Americans can fire up, I am totally convinced in my own heart that they will not escape the raging flames of populist discontent and that, sooner or later, their little financial kingdoms and serfdoms will come tumbling down around their astonished ears. It almost happened during the most recent meltdown, but The President and an administration that did not have their heads up their rear ends were able to douse the conflagration before it consumed us all.

I love it when President Obama says thing like, “I believe that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, and when everyone plays by the same rules. “

Is there anybody who knows anything at all and who can actually think for themselves who does not believe for a minute that there is unfairness in America?

Is there any doubt in any sane person’s mind that there are many who “Play The System” and take unfair advantage of the middle class, the lower classes, the desperately poor, the sick, the aged, the infirm and the disadvantaged?

Does anyone with any kind of heart and compassion at all believe that America is totally shielded from crooks and liars and deceivers and scoundrels who profit on the misery of others and that much of this chicanery is coming from the top of the food chain?

For the uninformed who think that there are no “Class” systems in the modern world— and especially in America where everyone is supposed to be equal– remember the old saying as I have re-edited it: ”Everyone is born equal. It is just that in The United States and elsewhere, some people are born more equal than others.” (John Liming, 2012)

It is up to the American Voting Public to level the playing field and to make sure the servants of Big Business and the upper crust do not get their grubby little mitts on the White House in 2012.

We have never needed good, solid Democrat, Liberal and Progressive leadership more than at the present time and in these present circumstances.

I am an American Man, 72-years-old, and a Veteran of The U.S. Military. I have served honorably in both The United States Army (National Guard) and The United States Air Force for a total of seven years and three months active duty during what is now known as The Vietnam Era. I am a concerned citizen and refer to myself as "A Crazy Left Wing Liberal Nut Case with occasional Right Wing Conservative tendencies. I am particularly concerned and grieved about the way our beloved America seems to have become so politically divided over the past few years to the point where hardly anyone seems to be able to get along or to work together and where mutual vilification seems to be a spectator sport of some kind. I am particular fearful that we might get to the point, in our internal power struggles where we would be a One Party Nation. That, in my opinion, would be a total disaster and that is what I fear certain members of the element generally known as The "Christian" Conservative Right may have in mind.
