Palestine Borders and Demographics Prove to be A Ghetto

Thanks to a good idea given to me by my partner here at STL, I started to research and analyze some geographic information regarding the Jewish land-grab in Palestine. I then followed by studying some demographic info on the Gaza Strip and drew some interesting conclusions. Here’s what I found: First, some great maps over at Wikipedia with adjoining historical context info and links portraying the boundaries of Palestine/Israel since the 1916 Sykes-Picot Agreement (The linked information could have you reading ...

Social Protest Lit: Ebenezer Elliot, “The People’s Anthem”

A poem from Ebenezer Elliot entitled The People’s Anthem from Book IV called “Out of The Depths.” This chapter is focused on man’s pursuit of remedy for social injustice: When wilt thou save the people? O God of mercy! when? Not kings and lords, but nations! Flowers of the heart, O God, are they! Let them not pass, like weeds, away! Their heritage a sunless day! God save the people! Shall bring crime for ever, Strength aiding still the strong? Is it thy will, O Father? That man shall toil for wrong? “No!” ...

Stephen Moore’s Ridiculous Anti-Clean Energy Rant

Hard right-winger Stephen Moore took a break from pushing debunked trickle-down economic policies to take a pathetic shot at clean energy.  Let the stupid begin. …radical Greens, one of the most influential political forces in America today… Seriously?  He goes on to mention the famed Sierra Club as one of these forces.  And where did they rank in 2013 on lobbying: 755.  In fact, if we look at the top 50 interest groups giving to members of Congress this year, no sign ...

Anti-Israel Policies/Actions Is Not Anti-Semitsim

There have been growing protests in Europe against the mass murder of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by the State of Israel. These actions are in response to the IDF killing 500 Muslims there with the vast majority of them being civilians. But what is troubling about these movements is, according to this article in the NYT, an anti-Semitic tinge has taken place at these protests. The story reads that in France: Several recent pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Paris have boiled over ...

Warren For President?

Today at the the annual Netroots Nation conference in Detroit, the nation’s largest gathering of liberal activists and organizers, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) reportedly drew an applause that Hillary could only dream of. According to NYT and Politico reports, Warren was a rock-star while Hillary Clinton, the likely Democratic candidate for President, was absent. Warren’s populist talking points and her history of taking Wall Street to task (remember that Warren was an early advocate for the creation of a new Consumer Financial ...

Social Protest Literatue at Sparking The Left

Here at STL we are starting a new feature. In between our political-insight posts, I will start publishing excerpts or entire pieces of great literature that speak to crucial social and political issues which span the centuries. Though almost all in the Western tradition, the subject matters are transcendental. Now first to name my source, I am taking pieces from Upton Sinclair’s selected and edited collection “The Cry for Justice: An Anthology of the Great Social Protest Literature of All Time.” ...

Pulitzer-Winning Journalist Detained for Being Undocumented

I was first brought aware of Jose Antonio Vargas’ story last week in a piece he penned in Politico. He explained that he was in the Rio Grande Valley, in the city of McAllen, just north of the Mexican border. He was there to see first hand the tens of thousands of undocumented children, most of them from Central America, and observe how they were being treated. The trip was also used for a news conference appearance and vigil organized by United We Dream, ...

GOP Refuses Funding for Border Children Projects

A humanitarian crisis unseen before at our borders is becoming more and more urgent everyday at Rio Grande Valley, TX, and other Southwest locations. And yet the GOP is arguing over numbers. Yesterday President Obama requested an amount of $3.7 billion from Congress to help aid the 57,000 unaccompanied minors who illegally crossed the border from the Mexico side since October. They are mostly from violence-ridden Central American countries, like El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras (Honduras has the world’s highest murder ...

Selective Outrage

War is hell.  All we have to do is look around the world to see its toll.  That being said, I don't understand the lack of outrage coming from this President and his administration other than that aimed at our one ally - Israel which is doing no more than trying to protect it's people from rocket fire and constant raids from Hamas. The fact that Palestinian civilians are getting killed is a tragic yet unavoidable aspect of this war.  Why ...

Why Are We So Full Of Hate?

What has happened to human kind?  No matter where you look we find ourselves surrounded by a world filled with hate. What puzzles me is how it's combined with political correctness.  Take this country where so many words are now frowned upon and even forbidden because they are hurtful to certain people.  Redskins, squaw, savage plus a whole lot applying to blacks, orientals and hispanics not to mention middle easterners.  Has it dawned on anyone banning the names has done nothing ...

Has Putin Over Reached Once Too Often?

My, oh my.  We've watched this man make mince meat of Obama over the past several years.  Each time you could see the smirk broaden and the swagger get more pronounced. He and his allies - Iran, China, Syria and North Korea were truly enjoying themselves. But as happens with a lot of bullies, they get over confident and suddenly everything around them collapses. I'm wondering if this is the case with the downing of the Malaysian passenger jet. With the death ...

If Only It WERE The Heat!

What a day.  A passenger plane has been shot down over Ukraine uncomfortably close to the Russian border. Hamas reneged on the humanitarian cease fire so Israel launched their ground offensive. Children still pour across the border while Congress dithers. It's now being reported parents are giving them birth control in case they are raped during the journey. Along that line former member of Congress, Todd Aiken, who once talked about legitimate rape and the idea that women's bodies protected them from becoming ...

Hannity's Histrionics

For a person who doesn't have much faith in the intellect of pundits, I wonder why I watch them so often.  I wonder even more why the cable outlets and networks that employ them don't take more care in who they hire. Many of them get on crusades that bear no resemblance to reality.  Sean Hannity is one of the most prominent. The night before last  he was on his Bowe Bergdahl kick demanding to know why he was returned to ...

Do Actions Speak Louder Than Words?

If the President could run away from the border mess any faster I'm sure he would. It's being said it's because being seen in the setting of kids crammed into confined spaces with their scabies and lice would reflect badly on him.  It could even be his Katrina.  Well, maybe.  But who's fault is that? It goes to show his handlers aren't as smart as they think they are.  For one, drinking beer and shooting pool in Colorado, a state where ...

The Kids Always Went Home

Watching the immigration mess going full bore brought to mind a lot of things that have involved children from other nations.  The first thing that comes to mind is the Disney song It's a Small World After All that speaks to all we have in common. Hopes, dreams, all the warm fuzzy stuff. We've had exchange student programs where a student from another country lives with a local family to learn not only academics but what life in American and Americans ...

The Militia Is Coming, The Militia Is Coming!

That's all we need! News has it a call has gone out for militia, both unarmed and armed, to gather along the border to help private land owners protect their property in something called Operation Save Our Borders.  Terrific! Remember how well it went when militia turned out to help to  help Cliven Bundy in his fight over Federal grazing rights in Nevada?  It came within a hair's breadth of turning violent. I really feel for the border towns who are the ...

The mobs of the great cities add just so much to the support of pure government as sores do to the strength of the human body. Did Hitler Really Disarm All The Citizens?

Advocates of “Stand Your Ground” gun laws and others interested in expanding Second Amendment Rights seem to me to be fond of telling people that the first act that Adolph Hitler did when he got control of the German Government was to take the Citizen’s guns away from them and then they warn that if voters are not careful, the same thing could happen in America someday.

I am assuming they think that this kind of scare tactic is going to cause every able-bodied American Citizen to run straight out and apply for a Concealed Carry License or a permit to buy an arsenal of assault weapons or something.

News Flash!

All the scare rhetoric is most likely (In my personal opinion) a smoke screen by people interested in selling guns and in arming the American People in the event  some paranoid little fantasy about a future Government take over might occur and the government will go knocking on doors and disarming people—”Just like Hitler did.” That’s what I think about it.

I do not want to defend Hitler for anything at all, but I do want to try to get some clarification on this claim that some Righties seem to like to throw out there in defense of mass gun ownership.

Of course, there is every good chance that Hitler never did any such thing!

History tells me that Hitler did, indeed, disarm people in countries that his military had conquered, but according to everything I have ever read or heard, there was no widespread confiscation of weapons from the German People themselves during the period of his ascendancy and tenure.

The articles I have been reading say that ordinary German citizens were fully free to hang onto their guns  until the Allied Armies did the weapons confiscation following the invasion.

Gun Registration and gun ownership does not appear to have been an  issue in the 1930s and early 40s in Hitler’s Germany.

So my next question becomes, “Why would people pushing gun ownership resort to distorting this important detail?”

I guess if I am going to swallow the rhetoric of “Big Gun” America, someone is going to have to show me evidence that has not been tampered with by some Rightie revisionist—or anyone else for that matter.

Check out some interesting information in the link located between the following parenthesis: ( Hitler Didn’t Grab The Guns! )

  • John,
The fact that Hitler may have disarmed his own citizens comes as a complete surprise to me. I have never heard that claim. Thank you for raising it, however whether Hitler did or didn’t bears little relevance to America today.

However, here are some facts that are more relevant.
Gun purchases in America surged shortly before the 2008 elections, yet violent crime decreased six percent between 2008 and 2009, including an eight percent decrease in murder and a nine percent decrease in robbery.1 Since 1991, when violent crime peaked, it has decreased to a 45-year low. Coincidentally, during roughly the same time period, the number of guns that Americans own has risen by about 90 million. Predictions over the years by gun control supporters, that increasing the number of guns, (particularly handguns and what they refer to as assault weapons) would cause crime to increase, have proven to be anything but accurate.

Now, do I beleieve that every citizen should be packing a piece? Not in the least, but I do believe that law abiding citizens should have the right to own firearms.

In both our countries gun control advocates live under the mistaken believe that by passing mote regulations and restrictions on firearms that ultimately you will have less crime and violence.
    News Flash!(
Unfortunately what they leave out of the equation is that crime by definition is committed by “criminals”, and criminals, again by definition typically don’t place a lot of emphasize on following the law. If Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) took the same attitude as gun control advocates they would be lobbying to have automobiles removed from the roads, No Cars = No Drunk Driving.Instead they advocate to have tougher sentences for the offenders and for the most part leave the law abiding citizen alone to own and operate a vehicle.

I hope this information assists in in future rants

    Take care
    FJ

  • TO ALL READERS OF THE LIMING LIBERAL DEMOCRAT BLOG:

It is good to have commenters share their opinions on vital issues and I am glad that this is America where everyone can have their say.

But as always I must remind all who read my articles of one important fact that must never be ignored:

Democrats, Liberals and Progressives have historically provided government that cares for all Americans and not just those at the top of the food chain.

Conservative and Republicans have historically provided government that serves the interests of Corporate America, Wall Street and the wealthiest Americans…usually always at the expense of the middle and lower classes of citizens.

The spinners can rant all they want about what is right and what is wrong. But that is their objective– to confuse and confound with their many useless words.

We cannot afford another Conservative-dominated administration. It will cost us all dearly.

The last Conservative Administration nearly wrecked the American Economy and it definitely ruined many family’s lives.

You may have been one of that reckless administration’s many victims.

So, the choice is clear: Listen to the ravings of The Right Wing and pay the ultimate price or vote Democrat for the good of America and your generations.

Hitler did disarm Jewish citizens. The 1938 Nazi Weapons Law confiscated all firearms from German Jews. This law was enacted the day after Kristallnacht.

    See http://constitutionalistnc.tripod.com/hitler-leftist/id14.html

  • J Scott

The point by the pro-Gun people is this. Hitler did disarm the German Jews. He may not have disarmed all of Germany’s citizens but he did disarm those he had intentions to conquer. Think about that. Why are the gun laws aimed at taking the rights away from responsible citizens? These laws will not take guns away from criminals anymore than drug laws keep drugs out of the hands of criminals. I have no problem with back ground checks. I had to have a back ground check to get my carry permit.taking away my right to buy guns is not helping the situation. The educated will know that an “assault rifle” is not diffeent than another simi-automatic handgun, or simi-automatic rifle. the only difference between these guns is the look of the gun. As an fromer special operation soldier, I can do just as much damage with a single hunting rifle as I can with an assault rifle. The two guns are no different other than weight and look. What is the point of restricting my rights? how does that prevent the criminals from having guns? I do not have the right to buy drugs and I do not have any drugs in my home, BUT the fact I cannot and do not have drugs does not keep the criminals from having, using, and selling drugs. It is the same with gun laws, taking away my rights to have a gun does not disarm the criminals.

  • Unfortunately the Left has no interest in hearing facts, or in reality when it conflicts with there journey to creating Utopia. Gun control for the Left is as fundemental as Mom and Apple Pie, so every gun crisis is viewed as a potential opportunity to get one step closer. For those that belive in big government and a naany state the thought of an individual citizen wishing to defend themselves if unfathomable, after all that is what government is for. To look after it’s citizens from cradle to grave, all the population is expected to do is comply.

  • Curse this ipad, I really have to stop using it to post, too many spelling errors

  • Re: ” – - -Unfortunately the Left has no interest in hearing facts, or in reality when it conflicts with there journey to creating Utopia.. . .”

Unfortunately there are some on the Right who have no facts to be interested in except the ones they have concocted to fit their own fantasies about how things ought to be. Totally revisionist much of the time. Totally out of synch with the rest of the civilized world most of the time. That is why the world chooses Liberalism.

  • Curse this ipad, I really have to stop using it to post, too many spelling errors

    Proposed solution: (a) Slow down.
    (b) Proofread and correct errors before publishing.
    (c) Use a stylus to type with if fingers get in the way.

    Problem solved!

  • Tim

Yes — much of the world has chosen Liberalism. Spain, Italy, Greece (all in economic disarray/collapse, Russia (with Pravda op-eds now lamenting and poking fun at how stupid the USA is for following it’s socialist/communist history), China (again — now moving toward capitalism and journalists beginning to poke fun at the USA for it’s idiocy).

And as for picking a choosing “facts” which fit one’s agenda — let’s not forget all those right-wing religious zealots who battled tirelessly against southern Democrats to abolish slavery, pass civil rights bills (under Eisenhower and Johnson), and enact women’s suffrage.

Shall we forget that so many early black congressional representatives were Republicans, or Martin Luther King? Shall we ignore all those southern Democrats who worked for so long within the ranks of the KKK to “promote the middle class”?

Don’t be deceived. Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives, progressives — they ALL happily accept their campaign contributions from corporations, lawyers, unions, or whomever in order to get elected. Politics today demands MONEY. Don’t buy into the line that Democrats/liberal are immune to it. Neither are Republicans or conservatives. People are just people. Greed is an equal opportunity en-slaver.

But there are still those who believe in the Republican/conservatives ideals of liberty, personal responsibility, and finding solutions that WORK! We tend to look a little longer at the “unintended consequences” of programs and legislation than some. LBJ began his “war on poverty” over 40 years ago; and if I”m not mistaken — our poverty rates are higher today than then.

Of course, our definition of “poverty” may have changed since then; but it does cause one to wonder.

  • The reality is that the Left always tends to overlook their own parties history of conspiring against equal rights or maybe they actually remember it better than most of us and are now trying to make up for it by striving to make all of us truly equal. Equally poor, equally dependent on government entitlements, and equally forgetful of the problems that the liberal attempts at social engineering have caused.

  • I am now the proud owner of a stylus, in fact this is being written with it.

  • Dear Tim:

    “Ahem!”

our poverty rates are higher today than then.

(So also is our population exponentially larger!)

  • I am now the proud owner of a stylus, in fact this is being written with it.

Joy will now certainly be your companion as you write and . . . the credibility level will sky rocket. Good move!

  • Tim

    Dear John:

“Ahem” — I said poverty RATES. Not poverty NUMBERS. Rates take into account the increase in population:

    John,

Just because you believe something to be true doesn’t make it true. Wounded Knee is an example of our government slaughtering innocent citizens that were disarmed. These were Americans, Native Americans that were slaughtered. It will happen again.

So, if the Democrats are the party of the middle and lower classes, why are there so many super rich in that party? The Main Stream Media, Hollywood Movie Industry, Television, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, The Kennedy’s, the list can go on and on? The Republican Party is really more representative of working people and small business owners. The Super Rich are in both parties, but the Republican Party comes closer to representing the values that really made America the bastion of hope and freedom for the world.

Anyone that thinks eight years of Obama is going to be better than eight years of George W. has to be on the Chicago graft list.

  • Re: Just because you believe something to be true doesn’t make it true. (I know that and you know that but I doubt that some of the right wing pundits and media outlets know that.)

Re: Wounded Knee is an example of our government slaughtering innocent citizens that were disarmed. These were Americans, Native Americans that were slaughtered. It will happen again. (I imagine someone should warn the Native Americans that this is going to happen again – - I think they would be very interested.)

Re: So, if the Democrats are the party of the middle and lower classes, why are there so many super rich in that party? (Like there aren’t any super rich on the right? I think some of the directors of some of our major corporations might like to hear that one after a hard day at the office— )

Re: The Republican Party is really more representative of working people and small business owners. ( That is the image they put forth but I think their union-busting and wage-destroying and social safety net decimating inclinations might prove that idea to be a bit of a fallacy.)

Re: The Republican Party comes closer to the image of the Tories (Loyalists) in The Revolution and the Founding Fathers were among the most Liberal-thinking men of their generation.

Got some more revisionist facts to share?

    • Kristen

I guess in reading your opening comment above I was expecting someone that was a true man to his word. Nothing in your previous posts suggest that you are doing anything to prevent the very division you speak about between dems and conservatives. Maybe I missed it, reading late night and all, it is possible.
“Unfortunately there are some on the Right who have no facts to be interested in except the ones they have concocted to fit their own fantasies about how things ought to be”
Really? Uh… yes! Hitler did take weapons from the Jews because that was the population he was looking to take down. Here I sit looking for a response by you and am unable to find one. I’m Jewish and waiting.

Also you state that you have “occasional Right Wing Conservative tendencies” Can I ask on what topic? Not seeing it. Lastly, I have travelled to many places and I come across people that express their extreme distaste for their govt so-called ‘party for the people’. They are liars and cheats and promise that you won’t have to work hard for anything in life if you vote for them…creating one hell of a generation of non-working, self-deserving people.
You would be the biggest fool to think that this “cool” wave of liberals has figured out all of life’s big problems! Hardly the case.
BTW do you have ANY clue how corrupt unions are today? Really? Come on. They were created for good! They are now the corrupt avenues of the middle class wall street, simply because of the money flow. Truly shameful. Detroit knows best on this topic! We are small business owners and more govt KILLS us! Any business knows that to be a fact.
Lastly, it is preposterous to even consider, “the whole damned country prefers Liberal government”. Try this! First, getting votes from people that couldn’t even name who the president is today, at this very moment, is not comparable to an educated vote my friend-someone not on any mind altering substance that ACORN didn’t force to sign papers. Second, get the votes counted as one per person (alive and legal please). Third, a voting card to use as identification! Fourth, get rid of any outside UN or black panther intimidations at polling stations. Any excuse against commonsense, nonpartisan, logical initial fixes, would give us true justice and liberty American style. Then let us see who holds that seat. I am willing to bet on one side versus the other winning. And, if in fact a Dem wins legally, I would still feel good about it knowing our system is fair and just. Working as it should! This is where the division started to shift!

  • Democrats are the party of a huge all-powerful, all-knowing, all- seeing, all-hearing all-judging government. Every policy put forward by democrats is there to put down the individual and raise up the government and the bureauocrat. I lay responsibility for this on at least half or more of the Republicans as well.

Why would anyone want to let a politician define our Bill of Rights when it is clearly stated in our Constitution what the government cannot do to us! This is the most important part of the Constitution for it limits the government’s power and by doing so secures our individual rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

It is a false notion that government solves anything and the statistics prove exactly that. Take a good look at the Post Office, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Military Complex and all of the departments in the executive branch of our government. None of these government agencies are succesful and they lose hundreds of billions of dollars every year if not trillions. All of this robs the middle and lower class of what little disposable income they have which they could invest in their own enterprises and by so doing raise their income levels which by the way would raise revenue for the government.

If you profess to be for the middle and lower class then you must be for limited government which inherently allows the middle and lower class to thrive and prosper.

  • Re: ” – - -Democrats are the party of a huge all-powerful, all-knowing, all- seeing, all-hearing all-judging government. – - -”

Which, in case no one has noticed, the majority of Americans have shown their acceptance and approval of for most of the past 5 popular electoral results and definitely for the past two presidential terms.

So if the whole damned country prefers Liberal government to the nonsensical failed policies of the right, where’s the beef?

Sounds a little like “sour grapes” to me.

  • I have dozens of friends who have started their own businesses and who are doing quite well thank you – - and they still can afford postage stamps when they want them.

The military complex looks pretty successful to me! I haven’t had any tanks on my streets from some foreign country lately, have you?

Limited government allows no one to prosper. Giving tax breaks to the rich has never produced that expected galaxy of jobs the right so touted for so long – - it’s all intransigent crap-ola! The right wing is in business for one purpose and one purpose only . . . to feed the rich at the expense of everybody else and every word they speak and every move they make is designed to bring that dream closer to reality.

There is nothing complicated about it.

  • Politicians take an oath to our Constitution not to their constituents so the people don’t vote their rights away. The problem is your friends the statist politicians like Obama are not honorable or ethical and do not abide by their oath of office.

We the people are being lied to by Obama and the Democrat party and that is why Obama won. It is not because people want big government. People want their liberty, free will and self-determinism. You don’t have that with a not very bright bureaucrat telling you what you can & can’t do. It is the antithesis of what our Constituion & Bill of Rights state.

It is people that create businesses and jobs not government. You do not know what you are talking about if you think otherwise and neither does the Democrat party. You can fool yourself into believing what the party line says but it is our children and grandchildren who will pay the price!

    Tom

  • Re: ” – -The problem is your friends the statist politicians like Obama are not honorable or ethical and do not abide by their oath of office . . .”

Oh yeah, it’s all about – - “Obama!”

Re: ” – -We the people are being lied to by Obama and the Democrat party and that is why Obama won – -”

Obama won because “We The People” saw through the lies and deceptions being thrown around by the radical right and we decided to reject them compoletely, totally and irrevocably.

Re: ” – -It is not because people want big government. People want their liberty, free will and self-determinism. – -”

Show me who it is in America who is not free and who cannot raise themselves if they so desire? (Do not include the multitudes who are held in place by failed rightist policies.)

I happen to love America and I tire of all the un-American rightist anti-American rhetoric that I have been subjected to over the past 10 years or so.

  • Re comment from Kristen: ” – - -Lastly, it is preposterous to even consider, “the whole damned country prefers Liberal government”. – -

But Liberals do win the elections, do they not?

  • More Liberal BS

Liberals win elections because the promise the lazy electorate largesse. 40% of this US population is lazy as heck and wants free stuff. They win elections by creating large debt and killing our future generations opportunities for success. The last administration was a big part of destroying the economy…very true. The reason for that however was based off a liberal premise. That of giving something to those who don’t qualify or deserve it based off of responsiblity and accountability requirements. The government put pressure on banks to lower housing requirements to GIVE those who don’t qualify a HOUSE a house.
    Progressive idea!!!

Your boy obuma was the 2nd leading money recipient from fannie mae and freddie mac and your boy Chris Dodd filibustered the republican effort to reign in the housing market. Probably because of the sweetheart deal he received on his home loan and the fact that Dodd was the leading money recipient from Fannie/Freddie. Man the facts suck don’t they!! Your liberal lies and propaganda is disgusting!

  • You wouldn’t believe the number of good, old-fashioned so-called (Pretend to be, wannabe) Conservatives that can’t wait to get in line for those “Government Freebies” that you are complaining about here. Many of those “I would never touch a dime of that filthy Gubmint hand-out money” hypocrites are first in line when it comes time to collect. So from the git go this argument doesn’t have a leg to stand on – - the same as the Conservative ideology doesn’t have a leg to stand on and that is why Liberals won the last 6 popular elections and the last two presidential elections – - America is turning off the Right Wing malarkey as fast as they can because they have seen that it all leads to nowhere and nothing. But thanks for the comment anyway.

  • Somebody somewhere above has written, ” – - -But there are still those who believe in the Republican/conservatives ideals of liberty, personal responsibility, and finding solutions that WORK! – - -

My question to that commenter is: “If Republican solutions actually do work then why don’t they win elections?”

  • Jason

Actually, Hitler did say that disarming a race of people would be to the advantage of himself and the Nazi party. The reference can be found in Hitler’s Table Talk, 1941-1944: Secret Conversations with the English translation copyrighted 1953 by Weidenfeld and Nicolson. Please read: Part Three: 6 February – 7 September 1942:

“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let’s not have any native militia or native police.”

There, now it’s resolved. Hitler did, in fact, express his wish to disarm those he planned to overthrow.

Can we move on to your next spin?

  • There, now it’s resolved. Hitler did, in fact, express his wish to disarm those he planned to overthrow. – - -

He “expressed his wish” but in fact he only actually disarmed a certain portion of his population . . . those whom he conquered.

But it is not all that important what a dead man did is it? It is done and over with and yes, if it pleases you we may move on to my next “Spin” and this may be accomplished by visiting me at:
http://americanliberaltimes.com where you are free to leave a comment for moderation that it will probably be my pleasure to delete.

  • Jason

    Dear John Liming:

You stated: “But it is not all that important what a dead man did is it? It is done and over with…”

Do you say that to Holocaust survivors?

As for the link you provided, I think it’s comical the author dismisses the fact Hitler advocated disarming an entire race by pointing out Hitler’s quote was made AFTER he conquered other countries instead of beforehand. That’s like saying Jeffrey Dahmer had no ill will toward his victims beforehand because he only provided his confession to detectives after his arrest. Brilliant.

In closing- if it’s your pleasure to delete my retorts while they await moderation, it shows all the more weight and challenge you feel my words have against your ideals. That alone is my pleasure.

I ask conservatives the following questions:

    1) Should those who enter this country illegally be permitted to purchase firearms?

    2) Should Muslims be allowed to purchase firearms?

    3) Should Atheists (most conservatives think these people are “unamerican” because they think this country is founded on Christian /Judeo principles) be allowed to purchase firearms.

If Conservatives answer NO to questions 1 and 2 then they are aligned with Hitler (who declared Jews non citizens) but RELAXED the regulations regarding firearms for the rest of the German People. This is ALL of Germans with the exception of about 200,000 Jews.

Hey, Mr. Conservative, how does it feel to be aligned with Adolph Hitler?

    Paul E. Lehmann,

Do you believe abortion should be legal?

1)Hitler advocated for abortion to control unfavorable populations.

    2) It’s still debatable whether Hitler believed in an individual Aryan right to abortion, but wholeheartedly believed the stated owned the bodies of Aryans and therefore had the right to implement abortion by the state to further the Nazi cause, which it did many times.

Hey, Mr. Liberal, how does it feel to be aligned with Adolph Hitler?

Can you now see how twisted and irrational your argument was? LOL

It is very clear, liberal’s have a sick point of view, and our last election results were counted in The nation of Spain, sounds like more lib fraud to me.I am a former liberal.

  • Your Conscience

Dear John Lemming hmmm mmm i mean Liming,

I was just curious if you still live in the fantasy –>

“Conservative and Republicans have historically provided government that serves the interests of Corporate America, Wall Street and the wealthiest Americans…usually always at the expense of the middle and lower classes of citizens.”

That is since your supreme leader has now exempted thousands of big businesses, unions and all of the legislators who brought Obamacare to us in the former middle class? You see my healthcare premiums have now more than doubled and my state exchange offers me no better alternative.

Also, as a former marine myself, how can you watch what is being perpetrated on “we” vets without recognizing who has been the cause ? Have you become a master mental gymnast who can completely ignore all logic, and reality ? Or are you just a coward?

BTW, your “conservative tendencies” is your conscience leaking out. Try listening to it.

  • As a Vet I know how to respect the Commander In Chief – - no matter who it might be. That is what American Service People do. That is what they have always done. As to the insurance? Surely you qualify for VA or some kind of subsidy unless of course you live in one of those states who have refused to participate in the program and then that is not the fault of the health care law is it? But thanks for the suggestion about listening to my “Conservative” side. No thanks! Been there, done that! Not my thing!

  • Also, as a former marine myself, how can you watch what is being perpetrated on “we” vets without recognizing who has been the cause ?

I think if you check out the Congressional Record you will discover who it is that usually votes against funding anything that would help Veterans and I can almost assure you it is not the Democrats. When you see who usually votes to cut funding for programs that help Veterans you might get a big surprise. Again it is not Democrats. “They” can wave flags and hold parades and ceremonies and brag about how they never will forget the Veterans but when the rubber meets the road, “They” are the ones who use Veterans as stage props in political fights and who defund Veteran Programs. But they will shake your hand and thank you for your service.

John, in keeping to the subject You stated that you have never heard about Nazi’s disarming the German Jews. I am no expert on this as neither are you. So Please read this published by someone that has studied the subject.http://www.stephenhalbrook.com/article-nazilaw.pdf

  • To: Bill Richardson
I think what I wrote in the article was: ” . . .History tells me that Hitler did, indeed, disarm people in countries that his military had conquered, but according to everything I have ever read or heard, there was no widespread confiscation of weapons from the German People themselves during the period of his ascendancy and tenure.

The articles I have been reading say that ordinary German citizens were fully free to hang onto their guns until the Allied Armies did the weapons confiscation following the invasion. . .”

and I don’t think I ever mentioned that Hitler disarmed The Jews in the article that I wrote.

In fact I don’t think I mentioned THE JEWS at all.
